hi, i’m alex.

I truly believe that everyone can learn to create a life they love and desire.

You cannot be fixed because you were never broken
— Jeff Foster

I graduated from Pratt University in 2013 where I received my Master's degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development. Shortly after I graduated, I moved to Thailand where I gained diverse experience working initially with disadvantaged populations facilitating art-based therapeutic interventions, and then within various addiction treatment settings. My time abroad greatly informed my personal and professional outlook and led to a much stronger understanding and integration of a holistic approach to healing.

In 2020, I moved back to the United States. I currently divide my time serving as Chief Operating Officer for two eating disorder treatment centers while maintaining a specialized private practice. I believe that these two roles complement each other greatly and provide me with a comprehensive understanding of the continuum of care and better ability to serve my clients and their loved ones.

My Approach

My diverse training and experience allows me to work intuitively with clients dependent on their individual needs and presentations.

I utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT skills, and EMDR to help you reach your goals.

In addition to these modalities, I believe that a holistic treatment is necessary to achieve deeper and sustainable impact and change. As such, I often integrate creative arts therapy, mindfulness practice, and body awareness techniques. I have also trained in yoga and Tension Release Exercises (T.R.E.), which can be highly effective for some clients who may struggle to connect with their bodies in a comfortable and conscious way.

Everything in life is a matter of timing and dosage.

Is my Approach What You’re Looking For Now?

I do my best to meet clients where they are on their personal journeys, but I also understand that not all clients will align with my personal style or theoretical approach. It may be helpful for you to consider the following:
